Iako je pravljenje filmova Hobit u punom jeku (Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey i Hobbit: There and Back Again), prvi segmenat snimanja je završen, a Piter Džekson nastavlja da golica publiku mrvicama kojim nas golica. Prvo su izasle tri fotografije sa Bilbom i Gandalfom:

Just how to visualise it has been a challenge, but fortunately Alan Lee and John Howe went crazy with ideas, and it should look pretty cool.

U međuvremenu smo dobijali vesti kako su napredovali kastinzi za uloge: Luk Evans će igrati Barda, Stiven Fraj će biti gospodar Jezergrada, Evanđelina Lili iz Losta je lik kojeg nema u knjizi, vilovnjakinja Taurijela, Beri Hamfris je kralj goblina, Konan Stivens koji glumi Planinu u Igri prestola je Azog. A Martinu Frimanu koji igra Votsona u savremenoj BBC verziji Šerloka, pridružuje se i sam Šerlok, tj. Benedikt Kamberbeč koji dobija duplu ulogu i to kao oba glavna negativca, daje i glas Šmaugu i igra Nekromanta (Volšebnika).
A u poslednjih par dana smo videli malo bolje i patuljke.

I na samom kraju, pre manje od dva dana dobili smo i drugi production vlog Pitera Džeksona u trajanju od desetak minuta. Za dva dana po koja reč o aktuelnim serijama i kastinzima za drugu sezonu Igre prestola, a onda od utorka odmor dok se ne pročita Ples sa zmajevima (potpisnih ovog unosa upravo završava rekapitulaciju celog serijala).
